Prof.Kim is giving rehabilitation lectures in Yonsei University...

I usually get confused because so many people name Kim in Korea...

Everyday, everytime, every hour we meet another Kim ;)

Ini merupakan metode klasifikasi dari diagnosis fungsional pasien dengan cedera medula spinalis yang dikenal sebagai "spinal cord injury"

Merupakan penyempurnaan dari klasifikasi frankel yang terdahulu dan di support oleh Christopher Reeves Foundation (we all know,that he was suffering from spinal cord injury).

Ini cara Chan ngafalinnya...

Dulu sewaktu PPDS diajarin sama dr.Indriati MS Tobing,SpRM (dr.Ria Tobing di RS.Fatmawati Jakarta).

Serasa masih terngiang suara beliau... "by convention...."

Klasifikasi ini terdiri dari kriteria A sampai dengan E.

A: no motor & sensory include in the sacral segment

B: Only sensory preserves

C: Sensory preserve, Below level, there's 50 % MMT less than 3

D: Sensory preserve, Below level, there's 50 % MMT more or equal than 3

E: normal motor & sensory (but there was a history of past SCI)

Studying the spinal cord injury is interesting...

Exercise for dropfoot in Leprosy

Leprosy in an infection cause by Mycobacterium Leprae.

Those patient usually treated in Leprosy center.

Sitanala in Jakarta & Sei Kundur in south sumatera.

In this picture, the patient with neuropathy become dropfoot...

see, so many hyperpigmented area in his skin.

In medical rehabilitation, we assist them to do self-exercise to maintain ankle joint range of motion.

The Sensory Integration Room

So many children have been gifted with many abilities in their natural motor learning...

Normally, child will grow nicely in gross motor, fine motor, also in speech & personal social...

But some of those children are not growing in the mainstream of growth chart...

Lack of stimulation during childhood, in adequate parenting approaches, the effect of some medication and also viral infection... make those children unable to coordinate & understand all of the stimuli input from visual, auditory, vestibuler, tactile...

That can be grouping as SENSORY INTEGRATION DYSFUNCTION.

A specific room which full of colour, and other stimuli can be used to train the children to recognize and understand better, and help them to give adequate responses...

Setelah dekade ke 3 dalam kehidupan, yaitu setelah umur 30 tahun, peak bone mass atau masa puncak kepadatan tulang telah terlampaui dan mulai terjadi pengurangan kepadatan tulang yang sering dikenal sebagai keropos tulang (osteoporosis).

Orang sering salah membedakan antara keropos tulang dengan pengapuran.

Padahal osteoporosis itu ibarat kayu yang lapuk dimakan rayap, sedangkan osteoarthritis itu ibarat engsel pintu yang berkarat...

Otamatis pengobatannya juga jauh berbeda kan....
